Inner Joy

Bitter
harsh complexities
run rampant
on the roads
of life
loneliness flits
through the heart
inner joy tainted
by strife

used to this
veiled by bliss
though little;
it does remain
happiness pushes it
far away
burying sadness
and pain

smiles grace
this face
but loneliness
steps in
dominant joy kicks it
out the door
but knows
it'll be back again.
