Love

People may ask what is love.

Is love like what it is portrayed as in the media? Sex, sex and more sex? no. love is more than a one night stand.

Is love calling a person every night and going out with him/her in every spare moment? not necessarily.

is love only doing whats best for a person? no. it amounts to much more than that.

love is manifested in both large and small ways. in small ways, the little things that you do or experience can amount to a big thing. its the small things that actually work a path into someone's heart that opens it up to you. its the little things that make you smile.

for example, just telling someone 'hey, you look good today.' can make his/her day. but telling someone through actions is one step up. for example, having someone greet you cheerfully can cause you to be cheerful as well. all this can actually turn people's hearts to see you in a better and more loving manner. the little things are like the little grains of sand that will erode away the stone wall barring your way into the person's heart. even seeing the person you love can do wonders for your day. if you well and truly love someone, your heart will not only skip a beat when you look at them, but you will even feel happy just knowing he/she is well. and when he/she smiles at you, you feel genuine joy.

and of course, the big thing that love is generally. people may say they love someone that they would die for him/her, but would they actually do it if a gun is pointed at the particular person? i'd say very, very few. Who is willing to suffer judgement and unfair treatment throughout their whole lives for complete strangers? who is willing to die for the people that have beaten you to the point of death? i'd say no one.

no one except the Lord Jesus Christ.

He was looked at with distrust, treated badly and hated. for whom? complete strangers like you and i. sure, we're His children! but who would die for people who have mistreated, bullied and who have spoken badly about you? Jesus died for everyone, the people who loved him, the people who hated him, and the people who have never even heard about him.

now thats love.

A Love So Great

A Love So Great
A Love So True
Can Only Belong, Lord
To You

A Love So Redeeming
A Love So Bright
Echoes God's Infinite
Power and Might

We Should Return This Love
This Wondrous Gift From Above
From A Lord So Great
A Lord So True
The Least We Can Do, Lord
Is To Honour You
