Inner Joy

Bitter
harsh complexities
run rampant
on the roads
of life
loneliness flits
through the heart
inner joy tainted
by strife

used to this
veiled by bliss
though little;
it does remain
happiness pushes it
far away
burying sadness
and pain

smiles grace
this face
but loneliness
steps in
dominant joy kicks it
out the door
but knows
it'll be back again.

Unshackled

a much happier person
unshackled, unbound
the answers i sought
the answers i found

knowing them all along
just not facing them
now that i have
i'm in perfect equilibrium

such peace and joy
God above provides
my questions answered
my path He guides

everything's settled now
on the path to a while new me
a new chapter has begun

from a loving God above

a reminder of my friends
those who love and care
and the life He gave me
nothing i couldnt bear

all i ever needed
He did provide
friends and family
and His word to be my guide
